Orlagh Cassidy Best Audiobooks 2013

Orlagh scored Best Audiobook in two categories on the 20 20 Year In Audiobooks 2013 list at AudioFile Magazine. She topped the list in the Biography & History category for her narration of The Astronaut Wives Club by Lily Koppel and in the Mystery & Suspense category for her long running narration of the popular Maisie Dobbs Series by Jacqueline Winspear in her tenth Leaving Everything Most Loved.

Both audiobooks have received outstanding reviews and praise:

The Astronaut Wives Club

"Narrator Orlagh Cassidy's appealing tone recounts the history of the U.S. space program while capturing the difficulties of the "astro-wives," who were portrayed by NASA as perfectly poised and supportive no matter the situation or the intrusiveness of the press. Rendering the many scenes of the women interacting, Cassidy skillfully reveals their complex relationships. Her straightforward delivery depicts the isolation the wives experienced due to their husbands' absence--despite their connectedness with one another."

"Orlagh Cassidy immerses listeners in Maisie's personal situation, making her confusion palpable. She presents Maisie on more solid ground in her investigation of the murders of two Indian women. Cassidy draws believable characters--from Mr. Pramal, the brother of one of the dead women, to Maisie's office assistants and the street urchins she questions. With major life changes on the horizon, listeners will eagerly await Maisie's next adventure."

Congratulations goes out to Orlagh for her outstanding performances and for 2013 being her most phenominal audiobook narration year on record.
